SALT | GRASS is a sustainable, transit-oriented mixed-use development located at 2715-29 Carlsbad Boulevard, just steps to the Carlsbad Village train station, restaurants, shopping and world class beaches. The Site Development Plan calls for the demolition of three existing structures and the construction of a new mixed-use structure that is three levels of wood framed and steel construction (Type V). Level one includes 8,240 square feet of retail and restaurant space consisting of assembly and business/mercantile occupancies. Levels 2 & 3 uses include fifteen (15) residential apartments, two (2) of which will be Low-Income apartments. The project, at its highest point, will be 42’ 10”. The development sits on a 22,500 SF lot and will be privately funded.
The project is compliant with the City of Carlsbad General Plan and the Village and Barrio Master Plan, both of which designate this site for visitor serving mixed-use development. SALT | GRASS is currently in the Site Development Entitlement stage and public feedback is welcome. Simply click the button below to provide your comments. A final decision on this project will be made at a future meeting of the Carlsbad City Council and Planning Commission.
